オーストラリアのモナシュ大学でドイツ語、言語学そしてと心理学を専攻し、卒業後は、新しい言語を勉強するために来日。英語ネイティブで20年以上在日。
さらにスキルアップのためイギリス国立シェフィールド大学の修士学位を取得。翻訳にあたって単なる置き換えではなく、流暢かつ効果的に英語の文書を仕上げます。

After my Bachelor's degree from Monash University in Australia in which I majored in Linguistics, German, and Psychology, I came to Japan to add to my language skills. As a native speaker of English and after two decades in Japan, I am well-versed in the subtleties of Japanese communication.
Having a Master's degree in Advanced Japanese from the University of Sheffield means that I approach each translation job with a high level of intelligence and strive to not simply transcribe words but to provide my clients with a piece of English that will achieve a purpose.

This book aims to provide readers with a brief history and description of Japanese arts and handicrafts expertly made by artisans and how they fit into daily life. The English is intended to be simple to aid students who may be travelling on their first trip overseas. It is also intended to be accessible to non-Japanese who may have little knowledge of Japanese history. The text does not use Nara period or Heian period but 8th century or 11th century. I hope that readers will use it as a starting point to investigate particular arts they are attracted to.
